Densifying the top of the head: Natural-looking coverage

For advanced hair loss, such as Norwood 4–5, treatment often focuses on improving coverage across the top of the scalp. Depending on your donor hair and treatment goals, approximately 3,000–4,500 grafts may be considered. FUE extraction and DHI implantation can be combined when appropriate to create balanced, natural-looking density.

At Goferie, every treatment begins with a detailed assessment of your hair loss, scalp, and donor area. Our specialists carefully plan graft distribution and hairline design to make the most of your available donor hair while creating results tailored to your individual needs.

Full restoration for advanced hair loss

For advanced hair loss, including Norwood stages 5–7, treatment may require a comprehensive approach to improve coverage across larger areas of the scalp. Depending on your donor hair and individual treatment plan, 5,000 or more grafts may be considered. When a large number of grafts is needed, treatment may be planned across multiple sessions to support careful donor area management and natural-looking coverage.

Hair growth after a transplant develops gradually. Early growth may become visible after a few months, while fuller results typically develop over 10–12 months. Your final outcome depends on factors such as donor hair, scalp condition, hair characteristics, and the number of grafts available.

At Goferie, our doctors guide you through every stage of your hair restoration journey, from diagnosis and treatment planning to aftercare. With personalized medical support and digital care through Goferie, we help you stay informed and supported throughout your recovery.

Women before and after hair transplant

Hair transplant for women: Personalized solutions for fuller-looking hair

Female hair loss often appears as diffuse thinning, reduced density, or a widening part. At Goferie, our specialists carefully assess your hair loss, scalp, and donor area to create a personalized treatment plan. When appropriate, DHI can be used to place individual grafts with controlled placement, angle, and direction for natural-looking hair restoration.

Hair Transplant Healing Timeline
From Day 1 to Month 18

A great hair transplant result takes time. Your scalp needs to heal, transplanted follicles need to establish themselves, and new hair grows gradually through different stages of recovery. Early changes can be noticeable within the first few months, but density and hair quality continue to develop over time. Follow your progress step by step from the initial healing phase through shedding, new growth, increasing density, and the continued maturation of your hair up to 18 months.

Timeline 1
Day 1
Directly after surgery.
Initial scabbing and slight redness are visible; the new grafts are firmly in place.
Timeline 2
Week 2
Scabs fall off
The scabs fall off, redness fades and the scalp visually returns to its normal state.
Timeline 3
Month 1
Possible shock loss
A completely normal process that does not occur in all patients: the transplanted hairs can temporarily shed while the roots prepare their new growth cycle.
Timeline 4
Month 3
First new growth.
The first fine hairs begin to sprout.
Timeline 5
Month 6
Noticeable improvement.
From month 6, 50–60 % of growth is already visible – the hair becomes noticeably thicker.
Timeline 5
Month 12
Maximum density
After approximately one year, full density and thickness is achieved. The result is permanent and blends in naturally.
